Owen's New Trick

If you listen carefully, you can hear him snap. He just starting doing this - Adam snaps at the kids to get their attention, and Owen just copied him!!

We think it's pretty funny.

Thanksgiving

This thanksgiving was great. This was the first year I had to cook the WHOLE meal! Everything turned out, no burning, no under cooking and the timing on everything was perfect. The gravy was good the rolls even turned out good! (There's a little history behind the rolls.) We had a great feast. Then of course the guys watched the cowboys game. This was Owens 1st Thanksgiving that he could actually eat the food. Had loved it! Then on black Friday we were brave and went out into the shopping world to see Santa. Luckily where we went there wasn't a rush of people. Adam was relieved. He hates crowds. And this Santa picture Riley was actually smiling. So we had a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Owen's Morning Routine

When I get up in the morning, Owen is usually awake. Since I have to go to work, and everyone else is asleep, I have to do something to keep him occupied until Nikki and the kids get up.

Well, there is only one thing that keeps Owen sitting still for more than five seconds - Sesame Street, his bink, and being wrapped up in a cozy blanket.

When we walk into the living room, he points to the TV, then gets on the couch and raises his arms so I can cover him up with a blanket - which I then proceed to wrap around him completely so only his head pokes out. Then, on goes Sesame Street, in goes the bink, and I'm off to work.

Works every time...

"Happy Halloween"

"This is the best Halloween ever." That's what the kids said after they were done trick-or-treating. We went to a different area then where we usually go. These houses looked like castles! They were all decorated scary and they handed out big size candy bars! The kids liked that. We're definitely going back next year! Owen had a lot of fun just following the kids up to the doors and taking the candy. Paige would say "Thank you, Happy Halloween" and you could hear her from across the street! Riley was a little annoyed, he had a hard time seeing through his mask and he kept tripping and getting mad and hitting the sidewalk. Eventually he took the mask off then he was fine. Well then we came home the kids duped out all their candy to see what they got and had hot chocolate and watched Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin. It didn't end very happy for me. I had some candy to hand out but since we didn't stay home I put it in a Halloween bag that my mom made, we used it growing up and put a note saying "take one." Well I knew that one person would take all the candy I didn't care about that but someone took the WHOLE bag!!! I was so mad. I should have known better specially in our neighborhood. I didn't even think that someone would take the bag! White trash people are so inconsiderate!!! It makes me want to move even more now! Sorry I'm venting a little. It just makes me so mad just thinking about it. Sorry mom for losing it!

Riley Makes Owen Laugh

Owen is about five months in this. Riley could always make him laugh. Paige? Not so much...

Carving Pumpkins

For family home evening we carved our pumpkins. I made wassel, a pumpkin roll, we had cookies and pumpkin ice cream! Oh and of course we had Michael Jackson's Thriller on. The kids loved it. They ended up dancing to all the songs on the CD. Owen had fun just feeling the seeds and tasting his fingers and putting his hands on his head. What a mess! I kept cleaning and the messes kept coming.

Riley T-ball

Over the summer Riley did T-ball. He loved it. He was so into the game. He wasn't one of those kids that stood there and picked there nose or kicking the grass or playing with their hat. He paid attention! He was mostly pitcher but every once in a while he played 1st and 3rd base. Once he got out and he did not like that, he was so mad. Like father like son! His team was undefeated. Which of course made Riley and his dad happy! I'm actually glad his team won every game just so I didn't have to deal with him being so mad! Adam did good. I thought he was going to be one of "those" dads that yelled at the coach's, well he did just under his breath and not often! We all had so much fun going to the games.

Poor Paigie!!!

I thought this picture had to be on here. We had the elders over for dinner one night and for some reason the kids were so wild. I didn't drug them I promise!!! well Adam found away to keep Paige sitting in her chair. He strapped her down with his belt. It was so funny. We were all laughing, including the elders. She doesn't like this picture very much. She says "I hated that day."

Seattle

This wouldn't be a blog about the Tait family without any baseball pictures! Every summer we go to Seattle to see a Mariners game. We love it! This year they played the Angles. Riley was so into the game, he got mad when the Mariners got an out, he got mad when the Angles scored or made a good play. One time Adam tried talking to Riley and he says "quite I'm trying to watch the game." it was pretty funny. I thought it was going to be pretty hard with Owen. I thought he would want to walk everywhere but he actually just sat on our laps and watched the game. It was nice.

Fall is here!!!

Owen made it out of the maze. He had fun just wondering around. They got so dirty, and you know how I am with dirt! At least they had fun though!

It's that time of year...

Every year around this time we go to Green Bluff. It's a bunch of privately-owned farms that are open to the public and they have pumpkin patches, hay rides, home made pumpkin donuts, home made apple cider. The cider is awesome - it's like biting into a fresh apple from the tree with a little bit of cinnamon. Soooo gooood! They also have mazes and really high hay stacks with a bunch of loose hay under it and everyone jumps into it. The kids love it including my mother-n-law! Yes she jumps too! There's lots to do and lots of different farms to pick from. hahah get it "pick from" cuz your picking pumpkins or apples, ok that was dumb it was a "Nikki comment" as my parents would say. Anyways so that's what we do every year in October.
